It’s GAME-OVER for Tariq

11 Nov

This is one of the more unusual pledges we’ve received so far. One that involves breaking the habit of a lifetime! We think it is particularly genius and worthy of your support. But what do you think…?

Tariq is giving 1up for One25

Tariq, like many men of his generation, has grown up playing video games from a young age. Unlike many of his contemporaries however, Tariq claims to have played some form of video game every day since he got his first computer (a BBC Einstein) at the age of six. He really loves games! And you guessed it- he’s given them up for 125 days as part of the ‘Give it up’ campaign! Well done Tariq!

Tariq describes how his life will change over the next “125 miserable days”:

  • The world will be overrun with multicoloured ghosts
  • Countless tombs will remain un-raided
  • Princess Peach will have to rescue herself (for once).
  • And as for those Angry Birds… well, they’ll just have to get over it!
And perhaps most shockingly of all, he claims: “Yesterday, I was so bored I read a book!”
Tariq is keeping people up to date with all his trials and tribulations on his Facebook page, which he posted on earlier this week with this picture and the following caption:
“Must… Resist… but it’s so shiny… RESIST!”

Oh Tariq, we look forward to the good humour you will inevitably continue to bring to this challenge over the the next few months. And we urge you, dear readers, to stand in solidarity with him. Please donate some coins (or rotating golden rings) to Tariq’s JustGiving page HERE. Thank you!
